Training, Qualification and Experience
I started my working life as a paediatric nurse at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children in London. I then worked with people with learning disabilities in a variety of roles. In both these areas I worked with and supported people experiencing illness and disability and those who care for them. I have worked with people suffering mental health problems such as depression and bi polar disorder. As a counsellor I worked for a charity that supports carers. Since 2010 I have also had my own private practice.
Alongside this work I have been involved in personal development work with individuals and groups and team building workshops using the MBTI (Myers Briggs Personality Indicator) and the principles of Non Violent Communication (NVC). I have also run art and spirituality workshops with a focus on the Soul's journey.
My Qualifications and training includes:
Diploma in Integrative and transpersonal Counselling (2010) and Psychotherapy (2017) with a soulful perspective (BACP and UKCP accredited training organisation)
Certificate in Person Centred Art Therapy skills (2004)
Myers Briggs Personality Indicator (MBTI) registered user (2004)
BA Social Policy and Administration - University of Nottingham
Registered Paediatric and Adult Nursing (RSCN/RGN) Great Ormond Street Hospital For Sick Children 1986
I am committed to continuing my own professional development and training as a counsellor and make sure I have regular professional supervision.
